Do you have disabled learners in your classroom? Would you like to learn about practical supports to help your learners achieve success in their English language training? If so, join us for this webinar.

Disabled newcomers face additional challenges in the English-language classroom, so offering practical supports can help pave the way to their success. We’ll look at how AODA (Access for Ontarians with Disabilities Act) impacts accessibility barriers. Then we’ll learn how to make general communications more accessible. We’ll also delve into plain language and explore considerations to support accessible materials design.

The key points to be covered are:

  • the impact of AODA on accessibility barriers in learning,
  • how aids for communication, writing, vision/optical challenges and dyslexia can support disabled language learners,
  • how plain language and accessible learning materials design can benefit disabled language learners, and
  • strategies and accommodations that may help disabled language learners.
