The presenter will review the concepts of social justice, plurilingualism, and the connection between them. Using Fraser’s social justice model of 3R (recognition, redistribution, and representation) applied to language education, participants will learn strategies as to how plurilingual approaches can help achieve transformative change in the language classroom and beyond.

Marina Antony-Newman (she/her) is recent doctoral graduate from the UCL Institute of Education, UK. She has extensive experience in language assessment and TESL and TEFL, both in Canada and Europe. Her research interests include social justice in education, plurilingualism, and language policy. She has published her work in Canadian and international academic journals.
