Join us as the presenter addresses the ongoing dialogue around the role generative AI plays in shaping pedagogical approaches.
The presenter will discuss three AI literacy frameworks and analyze their theoretical and practical applications in English language teaching today. Drawing on autoethnographic research in the Canadian public college contexts, the speaker will highlight three key study results based on his teacher learning journal and regular interactions with ChatGPT as a reflective partner in 2024 and 2025.

Dr. Plamen Kushkiev (Ed.D. in Higher Education Studies, University of Sheffield, UK) (he/him) is a Canadian college professor, researcher, and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Scholar Award recipient (2024). He currently teaches English for academic purposes and adult education courses at public colleges in Toronto. His research explores the ethical integration of GenAI in language classrooms through critical AI lenses. Plamen is a frequent presenter and a plenary and featured speaker at international ELT conferences on topics around teacher identity and GenAI in education. He has held various academic and professional roles, and he is currently TESL Toronto’s membership officer and TESL Ontario’s Colleges and Universities committee member.
