About the Presenters
Dr. Plamen Kushkiev (Ed.D. in Higher Education Studies, University of Sheffield, UK) (he/him) is a Canadian college professor, researcher, and Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Scholar Award recipient (2024). He currently teaches English for academic purposes and adult education courses at public colleges in Toronto. His research explores the ethical integration of GenAI in language classrooms through critical AI lenses. Plamen is a frequent presenter and a plenary and featured speaker at international ELT conferences on topics around teacher identity and GenAI in education. He has held various academic and professional roles, and he is currently TESL Toronto’s membership officer and TESL Ontario’s Colleges and Universities committee member.

Alexander Harchenko (he/him) has over 25 years of experience in the LINC and ESL field in Canada and the USA. He is a member of TESL Ontario and TESOL USA. Alexander’s teaching career includes work for some of the leading colleges and universities in North America, including Sheridan College (Ontario) and Tiffin University (USA). In addition to his Bachelor of Political Science and International Relations, Alexander is a Certified Canadian Settlement Specialist. Alexander brings over 10 years of board operations experience, including being a member of TESL Ontario’s Colleges and Universities committee.
