Beyond Chalk & Talk: Language Learning Adventures

This webinar will explore practical multimedia, debate, role-play, project-based, and gamified activities for developing language and soft skills. Participants will learn how to foster communication, critical thinking, empathy, and engagement through learner-centred approaches. They will leave with practical, adaptable ideas for their own classrooms.

In this session, attendees will learn to:

• apply multimedia activities to develop language, communication, empathy, and soft skills across age groups,
• replace “chalk-and-talk” with debates and role-plays that build critical thinking and active participation, and
• design project-based and gamified tasks that address real-world challenges and boost engagement.

About the Presenter

Nia Tevdoradze (she/her) is a professional educator, coach, linguist, translator, writer, and speaker from Georgia with 13 years of experience in education, currently working as an educator and teacher trainer. She specialises in educational technology, AI, emotional intelligence, PBL, CLIL, and learner-centred pedagogy, using multimedia, gamification, debates, role-play, and real-world projects to develop language and soft skills. She has presented at educational conferences and workshops and writes on the role of emotional intelligence and innovative approaches in education.
